On My Easel...

Fuschia Hedges with Distant Fair Head (Oil on linen, 20 x 30)

I've just finished this painting.

This is from my trip to Northern Ireland back in August.  The hedges of alizarin red fuschia are very common in late summer in this part of the country.  This is looking down over the fields around Ballycastle, towards Fair Head, which is probably about 4 miles away as the crow flies.

I liked the curving, leaping shapes of the brightly coloured hedge contrasting with the gentle patchwork of the fields.

If you'd like to check it out on Google, here's the link to the exact spot HERE.
