Harebells by the Sea, Portrush (Oil, 10 x 10)
It's another little painting, this time of Northern Ireland on the Causeway Coast. It was done at a place called Rinagree, which is on the road between Portrush and Portstewart on the Causeway coast.
This year, there weren't many orange montbretia, but there were a lot of delicate little harebells. I liked the contrast of their slightly lilacy blue against the deeper blue of the sea.
On a clear day you can see the coast of Scotland in the distance, including some of the islands of the Hebrides - Northern Ireland is really very close to Scotland and home. No time at all on a plane, but quite a trek on a boat!
